# Desilvered Bathroom Mirrors ### Issue Image: ![[Pasted image 20250131105649.png]] ## Issue Description: - Bathroom mirrors can develop desilvering, where the reflective backing deteriorates, leading to black spots or edges. - This is primarily caused by prolonged exposure to moisture, humidity, and cleaning chemicals. - Poor installation, such as direct contact with wet surfaces or improper sealing, accelerates the deterioration process. - Note these can fixed easily by removing the whole door panel and taking it to a glass shop, who will remove the damaged mirror and replace it with a new one. The door panel can then easily be re-installed. ## Actions to Prevent this Issue: - [ ] **Seal Mirror Edges:** Apply a protective sealant to the edges of mirrors to reduce exposure to moisture and cleaning chemicals. - [ ] **Improve Ventilation:** Enhance bathroom airflow with an efficient exhaust fan to reduce excessive humidity and condensation. ## Source
