# Fire Doors Located in External Areas ### Issue Image: ![[Pasted image 20250114154913.png]] ## Issue Description: - from time to time fire doors need to be located in areas that have a high exposure to wind and rain. - Fire Doors being made from timber will always rot in these circumstances. - Every effort must be made to protect any fire doors which are installed in these circumstances, this includes metal edging around the doors and adding an awning to the frame. - Further these doors need to provided with heavy duty door closers as they will be subject to higher forces, recommend using the DormaKaba TS93G Push side Door Closer. ## Actions to Prevent this Issue: - [ ] Architect to check any fire doors located on the façade and provide extra measures to mitigate against water damage to those doors. - [ ] Architect shall check that External facing fire doors are provided with heavy duty door closers such as DormaKaba TS93G Push side Door Closer ## Source - MIL356
