# Intumescent Cavity Barriers

## Issue Description:
- Intumescent Cavity Barriers are not an NCC requirements but they make a big difference to the performance of a rain screen façade in a fire event.
- Intumescent cavity barriers should be used wherever a rain screen façade is installed.
- These are a recommendation which has come from the State Governments [Project Remediate Pattern Book](https://www.nsw.gov.au/departments-and-agencies/building-commission/replace-flammable-cladding-through-project-remediate/pattern-book).
