# Undrained Cavities in Facade Systems ### Issue Image: ![[Pasted image 20241121122409.png]] ## Issue Description: - Façade systems comprise many components, these include - Windows - Waterproofing - Rain screen Cladding - Brick Veneer - Sliding Doors - At the junctions between these elements, it is very common to see the creation of a cavity in the system which is not draining. - Whilst it may be unlikely that water will get into these cavities, if the cavity is undrained, the water in these areas can build up over time leading to adverse outcomes to the building. ## Actions to Prevent this Issue: - [ ] Architect to check that there are no undrained cavities in the Façade System. ## Source
