# Passive Fire General Process
### Issue Image:
## General Process:
1. Sub Contractors provide detailed penetration registers of what products they are proposing to use on site.
2. BCA Logic prepare detailed penetration Specification document after reviewing and approving fire sealing systems.
3. Each Contractor on each site will prepare their own detailed Photographic Penetration Register.
4. A sample wall and penetration sealing is built onsite.
5. BCA Logic hold a Tool Box talk with Clients site team and sub contractors.
6. First few units are completed and BCA Logic inspect.
7. Per level inspections undertaken. –Reinspection of defects is charged at hourly rate –back charged to sub contractors.
8. One appointed Client team member to coordinate this whole process - 1 point of contact
9. Each Contractor on each site will prepare their own detailed Photographic Penetration Register.
10. Each Contractor on each site will label all penetrations as per AS4072.
11. Each Contractor on each site will certify their own penetrations which will be incorporated into BCA Logic’s overall Certification Document.
12. Only the penetrations that BCA Logic Visually inspect and photograph ourselves will be included in our final Certification.
13. BCA Logic will use the Aconex Field Inspection Platform either provided for by Client for recording the inspections or provided by BCA Logic’s platform
14. Client site staff will preinspect each floor/area prior to calling BCA Logic staff to site as a means of ensuring contractors works are in fact complete and ready for inspection.
15. All metal pipes will be wrapped with a fire rated wrap to both sides of wall penetrations and floor penetrations.
16. Electrical cables in EDB or Comms risers will also be wrapped with a fire rated wrap such as Promat Elite 1.5 FyreWrap or the Trafalgar Equivalent
## Design Principles:
1. Walls must be installed first before services – Critical this applies to:
1. Hebel Walls

1. Plasterboard Walls
![[Pasted image 20250225121736.png]]
1. Masonry Walls
2. All service penetrations must be drilled / core holed neatly being some 10mm larger than actual service going through Hebel wall – cannot smash hole with hammer
3. Horizontal bathroom / kitchen exhaust to façade avoids fire isolated riser shafts and fire damper installations.
4. Fire Dampers:
1. In Hebel musty have Hebel surrounding damper casing including over the top.
2. in Lightweight fire rated walls must have the fire rated plasterboard trimmed out as per below ‐photo before and after flange installed.
